Just arrived at Netherfield
DARCY
Well, I must say that this is a much finer house than the one he leased last year.
MRS. HURST
Harder to manage, that's for sure.
DARCY
There's no town nearby, is there?
MRS. HURST
Of course there is. Meryton. Delightful little town.
DARCY
Oh, dear. I hope your brother doesn't ever feel the need to actually go there.
MRS. HURST
Apparently there's a dance in a few days time, in the assembly room at the town hall. You know how Charles likes dancing. And meeting people. It'll do you some good, too.
DARCY
Well, I feel a sore leg coming on.
MRS. HURST
No, Fitzwilliam. Caroline needs a dancing partner. You promised.
DARCY
I did no such thing. Besides, it'll take me at least a week to properly settle in at Netherfield.
MRS. HURST
Oh, nonsense.
DARCY
Remember, Louisa. I'm in Hertfordshire under protest.
MRS. HURST
We'll all be very disappointed if you don't come, Fitzwilliam.
DARCY
Wait a minute. Meryton. Did you say Meryton?
